Pozzuoli opens the 2026/2027 season of the Teatro Sala Molière

The sixteenth season of the Teatro Sala Molière in Pozzuoli, led by Nando Paone, intertwines theater, dance, cinema, and literature with a theme inspired by Gaber: transforming ideas into action.

Pozzuoli is preparing to welcome the sixteenth season of the Teatro Sala Molière, inaugurated in its space at Via Bognar 21. Directed by Nando Paone, the 2026/2027 season's underlying theme is "as long as an idea remains, it is only an abstraction," presenting itself as "The theater of concepts and ideas," inspired by Giorgio Gaber's song "Un'idea." The program features eleven shows, maintaining the commitment to a diverse program that combines live theater, dance, and emerging creative languages.

In support of the stage, three key elements of the local cultural season are returning: the Immagi]na Film Festival, dedicated to dance for the camera and now in its eighth edition, curated by Emma Cianchi; Cinemagma, a film festival of short films touring the region, now in its seventh edition, directed by Giuseppe Borrone; and the new Libri in scena, a literary festival promoted by the association Il mio fuori orario with Maria Ammaturo, with the aim of bringing books to the stage. Also making its debut is the Camerino Podcast, now in its third installment, hosted by journalist Gabriella Diliberto together with Nando Paone. Workshop activities are also available, confirming the theater's commitment to its audiences and the local community.

The press conference was attended by artistic director Nando Paone, organizational director Veronica Grossi, and film critic Giuseppe Borrone, along with the protagonists of the upcoming season. Paone emphasized that theater is not a distraction from problems, but "hope and the ability to resist them," and explained that the theme was chosen to encourage coherence between ideas and action, making the season "more revolutionary."

Emma Cianchi, choreographer and artistic director of ArtGarage, said it was wonderful to open the day with a performance dedicated to Gaber, to whom she is also linked professionally: “Immagi]na Film Festival” will be accompanied by chamber dance projects that will include screenings, meetings, performances, and masterclasses.

For Borrone, the Cinemagma festival was born from the impetus of Cetty Sommella, after whom the award for Best Actress is named: "This theater has become a cultural hub. As a citizen of Pozzuoli, having a beacon like this is a balm that gives us hope for the future, both socially and culturally." Moving the events to Thursdays is an organizational choice designed to avoid clashing with football, he added.

Enrica Buongiorno, artistic director of Libri in scena along with Maria Ammaturo, has announced an experiment that will bring books to the theater. Chiara Tortorelli (January 30, 2027) and Maurizio Ponticello (February 13, 2027) will star in their book, accompanied by actors and music by Marco Gesualdo: "This book will be seen, heard, and read."

The season takes place within the context of a broad program that highlights the Pozzuoli and Campania scene, offering further opportunities for interaction between different arts, from stage design to dance, from cinema to narrative proposals.
