A 47-year-old man from Torre Orsaia was seriously burned this afternoon in Sapri, in the Salerno area. The worker was reportedly participating in fiber optic network repairs when the accident occurred on Via Granozio.
The man was working on a bobcat: according to initial investigations, he may have fallen from the vehicle and been hit by the hot bitumen contained in the bucket, causing burns to his face, hands, and torso. His colleagues immediately alerted emergency services.
He was initially taken to Sapri Hospital for first aid, but given the severity of his burns, he was transferred by air ambulance to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples.
