He had hidden over 200 grams of hashish in his home, but the nose of the drug-sniffing dog "Evan" allowed the State Police to identify the substance and make the arrest.
It happened yesterday afternoon in Torre Annunziata, where officers from the local police station, with the support of the Canine Squad of the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, carried out a search inside an apartment.
During the search, the drug-sniffing dog Evan detected the presence of narcotics. The officers then found three blocks of hashish and five bars of the same substance, weighing a total of 206 grams.
During the operation, a precision scale and various materials used to package drugs were also found, in addition to the discovery of 60 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The 35-year-old, already known to law enforcement and with a criminal record, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The man has been handed over to the judicial authorities for the required procedures. As required by law, the suspect is to be considered not guilty until a final sentence is issued.
