Villa Literno: 22-year-old Tunisian man arrested after argument

Early this morning, Carabinieri officers from the Villa Literno station responded to a street fight and arrested a 22-year-old Tunisian man, born in 2004, with no fixed abode in Italy and already known to law enforcement.

According to the reconstruction provided by the military, the man, who appeared to be clearly altered, resisted identification and attempted to flee on foot; a brief chase ensued, after which he was apprehended and taken to the station offices for further investigation.

The 22-year-old was found to be without documents. Identity checks, performed using photo identification, confirmed his identity and highlighted his illegal immigration status.

Upon completion of the required formalities, the arrested man was held in the holding cells of the Villa Literno Carabinieri Station, pending the conclusion of the summary trial. The judicial authorities were informed by the officers conducting the proceedings. The arrested man's position will be assessed by the judicial authorities in accordance with the safeguards provided by law and the presumption of innocence until a final sentence is reached.
