In the photo, a detail of the story.
A night of terror in Morcone, in the Sannio region, where a gang carried out a double attack on the BPM bank ATM and the post office's Postamat machine. The criminals blew up the two ATMs within minutes of each other, attempting to reach the safes and steal the cash stored inside.
The two explosions woke up residents of the town, alarmed by the loud bang. According to initial reports, the shots occurred in the area of Via Roma, where the bank branch is located, and near the post office. The attackers quickly fled, but the damage to the buildings was extensive.
The Carabinieri responded to the scene, conducting surveys and investigations to reconstruct the events of the two attacks, verify any possible connections, and identify the perpetrators. Firefighters from the Benevento Provincial Command also responded to secure the areas affected by the explosions.
The exact amount of the loot and whether the perpetrators managed to steal the entire sum from the ATMs remain unclear. Investigators are also acquiring images from public and private video surveillance systems to identify the gang members.
