The Carabinieri Forestale of the Province of Caserta continues their campaign of inspections in the Aversa countryside regarding the management of agricultural waste. The goal is to prevent the abandonment and potential combustion of highly flammable materials, potentially harmful to the environment and air quality.
During the investigation, officers from the Marcianise Carabinieri Forestry Unit reached a farm located in the San Marcellino area, along provincial road 340. The area is believed to be owned by a sole proprietorship primarily engaged in the cultivation of fruit trees, berries, and shell fruit.
During the inspection, carried out in the presence of the landowner and the company's legal representative, the presence of a pile of non-hazardous special waste deposited directly on the land was ascertained.
The materials, with a total estimated volume of approximately 5 cubic meters, included black plastic ducts and packaging, used fertilizer containers, and pesticide packaging. According to the military's findings, the waste was mixed together, not separated by category, and lacking European identification codes.
Furthermore, the company manager allegedly failed to provide the necessary documentation to demonstrate proper waste management over time, including the Waste Identification Forms.
Given the irregularities discovered, the pile was seized on its own initiative. The company's legal representative was reported to the judicial authorities at liberty for alleged waste management, related to the violation of the conditions established for temporary storage.
The suspect's position will now be assessed in the subsequent phases of the proceedings, respecting the presumption of innocence and the guarantees provided by law. This intervention is part of the activities to prevent and combat environmental crimes conducted by the Carabinieri Forestale in the Caserta area.
