Aversa – He entered the parking area of the healthcare facility and attempted to flee in a commercial vehicle, but his escape lasted only a few moments. The incident occurred yesterday evening in the parking lot of the Giuseppe Moscati hospital on Via Gramsci, where a 44-year-old resident of Carinaro, already known to law enforcement, was intercepted and charged with attempted theft.
According to the reconstruction, the man had targeted a Renault Kangoo registered to the company that manages the hospital's catering. Having boarded the vehicle, the suspect attempted to leave the parking lot, but his maneuver attracted the attention of the staff and a security guard present on the scene. The immediate intervention of the security guards allowed the vehicle to be blocked off before it could reach the external road.
A few minutes later, officers from the Aversa Company's Operations and Radiomobile Unit intervened, taking the 44-year-old into custody and starting technical investigations to clarify how the vehicle was accessed.
Following the investigation, the man was reported at large to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office for attempted aggravated theft. The suspect is subject to the constitutional principle of presumption of innocence until a final conviction.
