Lazio-Juve Stabia, a thrilling match and six goals: the Wasps held the league leaders to a 3-3 draw.

Goals and drama at Formello, where Lazio and Juve Stabia drew 3-3 in the friendly played during the international break. Coach De Giorgio's Juve Stabia held their own against the Serie A leaders with a focused, intense, and organized performance, never giving the impression of struggling in terms of pace or personality. Lazio president Claudio Lotito also watched the match from the sidelines.

The Biancocelesti twice took the lead in the first half, through Noslin and Zaccagni, and the Wasps equalized twice, first through Buglio and then Maistro. In the second half, Sana Fernandes, a Biancocelesti star on loan at Juve Stabia, put the Stabia side ahead, before Pinamonti scored the equalizer to tie the score at 3-3.

Making the test even more significant for De Giorgio's team was the data relating to the second half: in the 52nd minute, Boer neutralized a penalty kick by Pinamonti, keeping the match balanced, which the Wasps then had the strength to turn around.

Juve Stabia does not limit itself to containing

De Giorgio starts with a 4-3-2-1, with Vismara between the posts, Maggioni, Bellich, Bettella and Douglas in defence, Buglio, Kumi and Pierobon in the middle and Maistro and Sibilli behind Di Nardo.

More than the system itself, the interpretation is interesting. Juve Stabia immediately tries to close the pitch, attacking Lazio's initial build-up and trying to prevent the home team from gaining control. The initial incident that led to goalkeeper Motta's foul on Di Nardo captures the Wasps' attitude well: high pressure, courage, and a willingness to play the game without retreating.

Even when Lazio found the net through Noslin, the Stabia team responded immediately. Buglio's equalizer came from a situation of pressure and attacking presence, while Maistro's subsequent 2-2 draw confirmed another aspect of the test: Juve Stabia are also capable of creating danger from long-range shots.

Lazio's two-goal lead, therefore, never translated into a true escape. De Giorgio's team took the lead, but more importantly, fought back. And it was precisely this ability to stay in the game that was one of the most interesting aspects of the friendly.

Maistro and Buglio, quality from a distance

The first half also offers interesting indications in terms of individual characteristics.

Buglio was ready in the opponent's penalty area and brought the game back to parity, while Maistro became one of the main sources of danger with his quality shooting from outside the box. The 2-2 draw wasn't just a feat of ballistics, but also a confirmation of the Wasps' ability to exploit the space Lazio created without necessarily having to finish through long combinations.

Lazio, for their part, showed greater quality in the final meters and twice took the lead, but were unable to transform this technical superiority into consistent control of the match.

The second half changes the face of the match

In the second half, De Giorgio radically changed his starting eleven, bringing on Boer, Gallea, Baldi, Ricciardi, Perin, Artioli and Battistella and relying on Sandrucci, Candellone and Fernandes up front.

The change in players didn't change their attitude. In fact, Juve Stabia gradually increased their attacking presence. The early post and, more importantly, Boer's penalty save from Pinamonti were two incidents that could have tipped the match in Lazio's favor. Instead, the opposite happened.

The save by the Stabia goalkeeper had significant technical and psychological impact: Juve Stabia remained standing under the greatest pressure and even took the lead a few minutes later.

Fernandes, a top-class play

The 3-2 was scored by Sana Fernandes and was probably the most significant technical image of the entire afternoon.

The Portuguese striker receives the ball, runs into Lazzari, beats him one-on-one, and finishes the move with a delicate underhand pass. It's a play that epitomizes speed, individual technique, and the ability to quickly read the situation.

His next gesture was also particularly significant: Fernandes chose not to celebrate against Lazio, the club that owns his contract.

For Juve Stabia, however, the goal's value goes beyond the emotional aspect. It demonstrates that the team can rely on individual initiative when maneuvers fail to automatically create space.

The 3-3 was born from an incident, but the Wasps came close to scoring

Lazio equalized with ten minutes remaining, capitalizing on a Boer error in the build-up. Pinamonti simply had to place the ball into the empty net.

An incident that changed the scoreline, but not the overall momentum of the final minutes. Juve Stabia continued to hunt for victory and came close to scoring a fourth through Artioli, while Lazio attempted to capitalize on their superior attacking prowess in the closing stages.

The 3-3 result is therefore a reflection of a balanced match, but above all a test in which the Wasps showed they can withstand a match against a superior opponent without distorting their identity.

Directions to De Giorgio

Regardless of the result, Formello gave De Giorgio several useful insights. The first concerns their character: Juve Stabia went behind twice in the first half and found the strength to fight back both times.

The second concerns the ability to change players while maintaining the same attitude. The second-half lineup, significantly altered, didn't lower its intensity and even managed to overtake the opposition.

The third is related to the management of the moments of the match. The Wasps were able to withstand the pressure after Pinamonti's missed penalty and turn that incident into an opportunity to gain confidence and raise their center of gravity.

Of course, the limitation highlighted by the 3-3 goal remains: against higher-quality teams, errors in building from the back can prove decisive.

For the rest, the 3-3 draw at Formello serves primarily as an indication of their attitude. In a match that began as a simple test during the break, Juve Stabia displayed organization, reaction, and personality. And above all, they demonstrated they can play on equal terms, at least for the entire ninety minutes, without giving up their ideas.
