He didn't stop at the checkpoint. Police officers, on patrol on Via Sepano in Frattamaggiore, noticed a car with a 24-year-old man inside. Upon seeing them, he accelerated to avoid the checkpoint. A chase ensued.
During his escape, the driver engaged in maneuvers that were dangerous for traffic. The stop was made on Via Calabresi, in Arzano. €550 was found on the young man. Along the way, according to officers, he had disposed of three small bags of hashish, totaling approximately 4 grams, which were later recovered by officers.
The 24-year-old was arrested for reckless escape and illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. He was also charged with driving without a license. He remains under investigation and is therefore presumed innocent pending a final sentence.
