Millenary Naples: At the Real Albergo dei Poveri, Futuro Quotidiano II reopens its terrace, auditorium, and patio with free performances.

From October 6 to 16, 2026, the free events of Futuro Quotidiano II return to the Real Albergo dei Poveri in Naples, with Fame and other events that open the first part of the RAP Napoli Millenaria program.

From October 6 to 16, 2026, the Real Albergo dei Poveri will reopen to the public to host a series of free events in the patio, auditorium, and terrace, dedicated to the themes of hospitality, diasporas, and maritime migration.

A framework of civic and cultural projects

The first part of the RAP Napoli Millenaria program opens, along with the second edition of the permanent civic and cultural workshops of Futuro Quotidiano. The program, conceived by artistic director Laura Valente, is promoted by the City of Naples and funded by the Metropolitan City of Naples, with initiatives that will regularly enliven the building in the coming months.

OCTOBER 6 — TERRACE, 20 PM: HUNGER

The show stars Armando Punzo, who directs and writes the play, in a site-specific version for RAP. The work is based on Knut Hamsun's novel "Hunger," and features performances by Paul Cocian, with music and sound design by Andrea Salvadori. The sets are by Alessandro Marzetti and Emanuela Dall'Aglio; the costumes are by Emanuela Dall'Aglio, and the lighting is by Andrea Berselli. A Carte Blanche ETS – Compagnia della Fortezza / Fondazione Teatro della Toscana production, with the support of MiC, the Region of Tuscany, the Municipality of Volterra, the Ministry of Justice – Volterra Prison, and other foundations.

OCTOBER 7 — TERRACE, 20 PM: AND FOR THEM

Suite for schiavottelli, electronics, and mandoloncello, a site-specific rap project with Volto Sound: Gianni Valentino (voice), Lello Tramma (electronics and guitar), and Michele Signore (loop, violin, and mandoloncello). The work originates from the archives of the Banco di Napoli Historical Archives and draws inspiration from the slave trade between Naples and Istanbul in the 17th century, transforming period documents into fourteen original poems in Italian and Neapolitan.

OCTOBER 7 — TERRACE, 21:15 PM: HERITAGE

Lucariello sings alongside Federico Di Napoli, accompanied by the voices of Nisida. Lucariello is accompanied by Mario Mazzaro (bass), Massimo Del Pezzo (drums), and Ivano Leva (piano). The show is part of the collaboration between Futuro Quotidiano and the IPM of Nisida, curated by Luca Caiazzo. The RAP project launches a partnership that will continue with additional programs aimed at at-risk youth and will serve as an educational bridge between Nisida and the Albergo dei Poveri.

OCTOBER 16 — PATIO AND AUDITORIUM, 19 PM: TIRESIAS: BORN NEAR THE GHOSTS. BORN STORM.

Tiresia, a site-specific performance-installation by Giorgina Pi / Bluemotion, makes its Neapolitan debut. The work, in the format of a 35-minute sound diary to be listened to with headphones, explores Tiresia through the verses of Kae Tempest and invites viewers to engage with themes of visibility, memory, and identity. The piece is produced for RAP by Giorgina Pi with Angelo Mai / Bluemotion, and features the vocals of several performers and musicians.

All events are free, subject to availability. This event concludes the first part of the RAP Napoli Millenaria program and kicks off the permanent civic and cultural workshops of the second edition of Futuro Quotidiano.

The history and numbers of the Futuro Quotidiano project

In the first edition, between May 2025 and September 2025, over 1.500 young people participated in workshops at the Real Albergo dei Poveri, resulting in approximately 2.500 proposals for the Naples of 2050 and three thematic areas (Roots, Visions, Commitment), including a Constitution translated into Neapolitan and presented in a performance. The next phase, from December 2025 to May 2026, attracted a total of 150.000 visitors, again with free admission.

Conceived by Laura Valente, the project transformed the Real Albergo dei Poveri into a civic and cultural laboratory open to new generations, creating a dialogue between past and future between citizens and institutions.

Upcoming events and permanent workshop

Among the scheduled events, starting October 29th, "Scuola popolare, nessuno escluso" (People's School, No One Excluded) and workshops on the body and affectivity, curated by Le Nuvole and aimed at young people from the municipalities of the Metropolitan City. A workshop called Fotoromanza (Photo-Story) involves women between the ages of 65 and 90 and will culminate in meetings until December: each participant will create their own photo-story to tell and reinvent their life story. The program will continue until December and will culminate in a documentary that gives a voice to those who often don't have one.

All events are free to attend, subject to availability.
