Blitz in the Caserta area: illegal garages and car washes, three reports and seizures of 1.000 square meters.

Casal di Principe—A crackdown on environmental plundering and illegal commercial activity in the Caserta area. This is the outcome of a large-scale joint operation conducted at dawn by the Caserta Provincial Police and the Italian Army (VI Regiment "Cavalleggeri di Aosta"), supported by Enel inspectors and municipal technicians.

The results show three people reported, 32 vehicles seized, three restricted areas totaling over a thousand square meters, and administrative fines totaling over €64. The operation, coordinated by Provincial Police Commander Biagio Chiariello and part of the counteraction plan promoted by Provincial President Anacleto Colombiano, was launched after days of stakeouts and tailings that revealed an unusual and intense traffic flow in areas dominated by phantom businesses.

Investigations in Casal di Principe: Workshop and energy theft

The first and most serious raid occurred in Casal di Principe. Here, inside a building of approximately 600 square meters, law enforcement discovered a completely illegal, large-scale mechanical workshop. In addition to the lack of any permit, the investigations revealed criminal management of hazardous waste: tons of hazardous materials and waste—including used oil and used batteries—were being handled without any precautions.

Supported by Enel technical staff and inspectors, the officers also discovered illegal connections to the electricity and water grids, resulting in damage estimated at over €10. A total of 13 vehicles were seized. The owner was reported at large for aggravated theft, building violations, and environmental crimes, and was fined over €31.

Also in the Casale area, a second raid dismantled a car wash without planning permission. The facility lacked the required wastewater treatment systems, discharging wastewater in defiance of all environmental protection regulations. The owner was charged with illegal waste management, and the entire area was placed under preventive seizure, pending further technical investigations by the municipality.

The raid at Villa di Briano

The joint operation then extended to Villa di Briano. Officers identified an area of approximately 400 square meters illegally used for mechatronics and car repairs, managed by the owner of a vehicle sales business already known to law enforcement.
In this case, too, the area and 12 vehicles were sealed off. The person responsible was reported to the Judicial Authorities for environmental and construction crimes, while the administrative fines for the illegal practice of the mechatronics profession exceeded 33 euros.
