Frattamaggiore: Petition against violent nightlife
Frattamaggiore – Increased security, constant checks, and greater coordination between law enforcement agencies on weekends. This is what the promoters of an online petition are calling for regarding the city's nightlife, which is increasingly considered a problem for the livability of neighborhoods and the tranquility of residents.
According to the petition, every weekend the streets of Frattamaggiore are heavily populated by young people, many of whom come from neighboring municipalities. Cars and motorcycles, according to the signatories, occupy the main nightlife areas, causing frequent traffic violations and difficulties for residents.
Among the reported issues are loud noises, noises that continue into the early hours of the morning, and behaviors deemed disruptive. These situations, according to the initiative's promoters, would ultimately impact the daily lives of families, the elderly, the sick, and vulnerable citizens.
The petition also highlights the problems related to access to housing. In some circumstances, the signatories argue, parked cars and crowded streets make it difficult to return to one's home or freely leave private property.
"It's not about being against fun or socializing for young people," the appeal reads, "but about putting a stop to anarchy and incivility." The stated goal is to ask the institutions to intervene to reconcile the right to social interaction with residents' right to safety and rest.
The petition calls for an emergency action plan for weekends, with a more visible police presence at night and in areas considered most vulnerable.
Requests include:
The appeal is also addressed to the Prefect of Naples, the mayor, and the municipal administration, to develop a shared strategy to ensure more effective surveillance of the area.
The signatories' requests follow a series of checks already carried out in Frattamaggiore. In the most recent extraordinary operation, conducted by the State Police together with the Guardia di Finanza and the local police, 419 people were identified and 182 vehicles were checked. Six vehicles were seized, four were administratively detained, and 28 traffic violations were reported.
The petition concludes with a call for participation: "This initiative was born out of a love for Frattamaggiore and a desire to live in a safe, welcoming, and respectful city." The promoters' goal is to gather support and bring the issue to the attention of the authorities, calling for concrete action to restore dignity, safety, and serenity to the community.
