The Cardarelli Hospital
A 59-year-old man was injured in his left eye in Naples, under circumstances still unclear. Police are investigating the incident, which, according to the victim, occurred while he was on Via Arnaldi.
The man, a Peruvian citizen, was rescued around 6 a.m. on Saturday and taken to Cardarelli Hospital. He reported to the UPG officers who responded to the facility that he saw two people on a scooter approaching. Immediately afterward, he reportedly felt pain in his head and left eye.
The 59-year-old's life is not in danger. Medical tests, however, have not determined with certainty how he was injured. One possibility is that he was shot with an air gun.
Investigators are reconstructing the incident and are not ruling out any leads. Among the possibilities being explored is that the man was not the target of the shooter.
