He had paid €1.050 online to purchase a used engine for his car, but the part was never delivered. In connection with the incident, Carabinieri officers from the Sessa Aurunca station have reported a 71-year-old resident of the Naples metropolitan area, who is believed—according to the investigation—to be responsible for fraud.
The report came from a woman living in Sessa Aurunca, who had made the payment via bank transfer. According to the police's reconstruction, the man allegedly introduced himself as the sole director of a company based in the Marche region, active in the automotive spare parts sector, and convinced the woman to pay the sum to purchase the engine.
After the payment, however, the replacement did not arrive. Carabinieri investigations allowed them to reconstruct the transaction and identify the alleged perpetrator. Following the investigation, the 71-year-old was reported to the judicial authorities for suspected fraud.
The proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The suspect's liability must be determined in court, respecting the presumption of innocence.
