Two nightlife venues in Vomero discovered with illegal electricity connections.
A night of extensive checks in the nightlife districts of Vomero and Arenella. The Carabinieri, supported by the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, the Prevention Department of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro, and technicians from E-Distribuzione, combed through premises, businesses, vehicles, and people in the hilly neighborhoods of Naples.
The operation's findings include one report for illegal possession of a weapon, two cases of aggravated electricity theft, several administrative violations, and food safety irregularities. During the operation, 119 people were identified and 49 vehicles were inspected.
Among the incidents uncovered during the checks was one involving a 24-year-old man caught with a knife with a 17-centimeter blade. He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon, while the knife was seized by the police.
The intervention is part of the prevention and control of potentially dangerous behavior in areas most frequented during nighttime hours.
Special attention was also paid to commercial businesses. Two owners got into trouble for using electricity through irregular connections.
In the first case, the meter was allegedly tampered with; in the second, the business connected directly to the electricity grid without authorization. Both are charged with aggravated electricity theft.
The checks also uncovered several administrative irregularities. One garage was fined for failing to connect its POS, while another business failed to perform periodic checks on its cash register.
More significant are the charges against two catering businesses for violations of HACCP standards, which govern hygiene and safety in food handling. In one of the two cases, the business was suspended.
Overall, four significant non-conformities were detected in the health and hygiene checks.
The investigation also included people present in the nightlife district. 119 were identified, while nine people, including a minor, were reported as drug users. They had marijuana and hashish on them.
On the road traffic front, the military and other operators inspected 49 vehicles, four of which had foreign license plates. Finally, ten fines were issued for violations of the Highway Code.
The operation is part of the territorial control activity aimed at combating illegality and ensuring greater security in the nightlife areas of Vomero and Arenella.
