De Laurentiis shields Allegri and attacks the FIGC's politics: "We're moving forward with Malagò."

Rome – A wide-ranging intervention spanning from Napoli's tactics board to the halls of sporting power. Aurelio De Laurentiis took advantage of the Collari d'Oro parade at the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) to take stock of the Azzurri's performance and send a clear message to the governance of Italian football.

On the team front, on the eve of the tricky European away match against Villarreal in the Champions League, the owner cleared up any doubts about the coaching staff. "I have faith in our players and I've never had any doubts about Allegri," the president assured.

De Laurentiis acknowledged his decision to remain silent during the most delicate moments ("I've always remained silent, without passing judgment or making comments") and praised the recent win against Frosinone, attributing it to the coach's change in formation. "Now he's back to a three-man defense: it's clearly the formation that gives him more confidence, and we were successful against a real team."

From the bench to football politics, the Neapolitan leader's tone becomes even more peremptory when the topic shifts to Giovanni Malagò. "Unfortunately, stupidity rules Italy: Giovanni should never be up for discussion," thundered De Laurentiis, guaranteeing that "Serie A will nominate him again, otherwise it would be a step backwards."

The president then drew a clear line between the ruling class and the institutions: "Malagò, even though he's old, is an entrepreneur. The world is divided into entrepreneurs and takers: politicians are often takers, and those who took action were." A final warning that sounds like a wake-up call for the entire movement: "The problem is change: will it happen? Let's hope so, otherwise football will go downhill."
