Stellantis Pomigliano: New dismissal letters for Trasnova workers
The nightmare of layoffs returns for the 53 Trasnova workers in Pomigliano d'Arco. With the expiration of social safety nets set for December 31, 2026, and the lack of concrete solutions to date for staff redeployment, one of the most sensitive disputes in the Stellantis supply chain has reopened.
With an official communication dated October 15, Trasnova Srl has reinstated the collective dismissal procedure pursuant to Articles 4 and 24 of Law 223/91. This measure also affects the 53 employees at the Pomigliano d'Arco site, including workers with decades of seniority, some formerly of Fiat.
A situation that seemed to have found a glimmer of hope after months of protests, protests, and institutional meetings, but which today once again raises serious concerns.
The redundancy fund for business closures will end on December 31st, and without further action, workers' employment prospects will hang in the balance.
In the communication sent to the trade unions, Trasnova justified the initiation of the procedure by the definitive cessation, which occurred on April 30, of the activities entrusted to it by Stellantis, declaring the impossibility of independently relocating the staff.
Meanwhile, on the institutional front, discussions remain ongoing to identify possible employment opportunities. However, despite the commitments and prospects emerging during recent meetings, there are currently no concrete and definitive solutions capable of guaranteeing a future for the 53 Pomigliano employees.
For these workers, this is yet another chapter in a long dispute, marked by months of uncertainty and the constant need to defend their jobs.
Meanwhile, time continues to tick. With just over two months to go until the expiration of social safety nets, it becomes increasingly urgent to transform institutional commitments into real employment responses.
Because behind those 53 letters there aren't just numbers, but workers, families, and the professionalism built over decades of activity in the automotive industry of Pomigliano d'Arco.
The hope is that a concrete solution can be reached before December 31st, preventing an already long and painful dispute from definitively turning into an employment drama.
