Shock in Mirandola: Elderly men killed and beheaded in their homes, the suspected son remains silent.

Mirandola – He is suspected of being the perpetrator of the macabre and barbaric murder of his elderly parents, found beheaded last night in their home in Mirandola, in the province of Modena. The son of Ferdinando Casari (82) and Vincenza Giannini (74) was arrested in the hours following the discovery of the bodies and questioned throughout the night, but the 55-year-old man remained silent throughout.

He, the prime suspect in what immediately appeared to be a brutally committed double homicide, has offered investigators no evidence to support his innocence or guilt. The bodies of the two elderly victims, found around 7:30 PM last night in a village in the Mirandola countryside, were severely mutilated.

According to initial findings by investigators and law enforcement officers who arrived on the scene, the two elderly men were beheaded. Last night, in addition to law enforcement and emergency personnel, Mirandola's mayor, Letizia Budri, also arrived on the scene to closely monitor the developments in a story that, as she herself wrote on social media, has shocked the entire local community.

Neighbors, still in shock, have described the family situation as complex and marked by past tensions. The investigation is continuing rapidly to reconstruct the exact circumstances and time of the attack. In the coming hours, the police and prosecutor Marco Niccolini of the Modena Public Prosecutor's Office will assess the position of the main suspect, who was arrested and questioned a few hours after the gruesome discovery. Forensic tests conducted at the victims' home on Via Imperiale in Mirandola are crucial.
