Camorra, Contini Clan Trial: 7 Centuries of Prison Requested

More than a clan, it is a criminal holding that for years has managed criminal affairs not only in the neighborhoods near Naples airport, but also in the neighboring ones, thanks to a dense network of alliances.
It is the Contini clan and for some of its members the prosecutors of the Naples DDA have asked for over seven centuries of prison, distributed among ninety defendants accused not only of Camorra-style criminal association, but also of money laundering. The investigation from which the trial originated has in fact led to the discovery of all the channels that the clan used to be able to reinvest, by laundering them, the millions of euros coming from drug trafficking.
The largest investments had been made in Rome and Viareggio. The requests for sentences range from 30 years for Ciro Di Carluccio, a leading member of the gang, to 24 years for Rita Aieta, wife of the boss Eduardo Contini, known as 'the Roman', for his marked ability to do business in the capital.
Among the defendants is also Ettore Bosti, known as 'the red', son of the clan leader Patrizio, who risks a 24-year prison sentence. The same sentence has also been requested for Antonio Righi, one of the alleged "white collar" of the clan. The judge of the first criminal section of the Court of Naples has established that there will be at least ten hearings dedicated to the discussion of the defense lawyers. The sentence should be pronounced by the end of the year.
