America's Cup: Naples stormed to the top with 770 visitors in just a few days.

America's Cup fever is in full swing in Naples. The preliminary regattas have attracted an exceptional influx of tourists, with numbers that, according to initial estimates, confirm the event's impact on the city.

In the three days preceding the regattas, September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, approximately 770 visitors from Italy and abroad arrived in Naples. This figure, which is still partial, will be updated in the coming days.

The initial figures were provided by Naples Tourism Councillor Teresa Armato, who estimated that approximately 500 tourists in total came to the city specifically to watch the sailing competitions.

"We'll release the final figures midway through next week," Armato explained, also emphasizing the full occupancy of hotels.

September heads for a new record

The America's Cup figure adds to the equally significant one recorded during the San Gennaro weekend, when an estimated 645 people attended Naples.

These numbers, according to forecasts by the Urban Tourism Observatory, could lead to September exceeding 2,2 million tourists.

A result that would confirm the growing importance of major events on the city's tourist appeal.

Platforms, giant screens and panoramic points

The municipal administration had prepared a series of initiatives to allow citizens and visitors to follow the regattas even outside the areas directly affected by the event.

"We've worked incredibly hard, including with the Metropolitan City, to offer our residents and tourists a truly unique experience," Armato explained.

Among the initiatives carried out, the platforms on the cliffs, which the Municipality aims to propose again next summer, the boat tours transformed on the days of the races into real observation points from the sea and the giant screens set up on the lawns.

The event involves the whole city

The administration's goal, the councilor emphasized, was to prevent the America's Cup from remaining confined exclusively to the city center.

For this reason, numerous collateral events have been organized, including those in the Phlegraean Fields. Among the events is Friday evening's event at the Casina Vanvitelliana and Baia Castle, featuring music, art, and entertainment.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people continue to follow the regattas from the city's scenic vantage points. Among the most crowded spots are Via Orazio, Monte Echia, and the Terrazza di Sant'Antonio, from which you can observe the boats competing.

"There's enthusiasm and the whole city is involved," Armato emphasized, describing the spectacle visible from Neapolitan viewpoints as "truly extraordinary."

Tourism driven by large-scale sailing

The figures released by the Municipality therefore paint a particularly significant picture for the preliminary regatta days. Final attendance figures will be released next week, while attention now remains focused on the event's overall impact on tourism and the city's economy.
