Child pornography, violence against daughters in chat: one arrest in Naples and 4 in Italy

Child pornography: five arrests throughout Italy, one man arrested in Naples, a municipal employee also reported.

Shocking online, violence against minors and children, and then videos in chat rooms: this is the shocking discovery made by the Postal Police, who, in a joint operation in Naples, Brescia, Bologna, Catania, and Rome, busted a pedophile ring. Three well-known businessmen were arrested for sexual assault against their daughters and possession and production of child pornography.

Five people were active on a well-known messaging platform, using which they had created a closed group in which they incessantly exchanged sexual fantasies involving members of their families, including their children. This was accompanied by the production of content created through the sexual exploitation of minors, depicting both sexual acts and secretly captured intimate moments.

The investigation, coordinated by the Postal and Communications Police Service through the National Center for the Countering of Online Child Pornography (CNCPO), was based on the international investigative information exchange that is central to the Specialty's long-standing relationships with foreign counterparts. It was conducted in full investigative synergy between the Rome, Bologna, Milan, Naples, and Catania Departments. Postal Police officers successfully identified the associates, progressively highlighting all the computer traces collected, which allowed them to fully reconstruct the structure of the horrific group.

The first search was carried out by the Lazio Postal Police Department, on behalf of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, on a citizen resident in the capital, who was arrested in flagrante delicto for being in possession of a large quantity of child pornography. On that occasion, the existence of the group emerged for the first time : further investigations, in particular, revealed the serious nature of the situation of a forty-five-year-old Bolognese citizen, a construction contractor, who was searched by the Bologna Postal Police.

The search for evidence against the entrepreneur confirmed the theorized investigative structure, revealing that the suspect shared a horrifying, short video depicting himself engaging in onanistic practices in the presence of his own daughter.

For these reasons, the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office, having assumed territorial jurisdiction over the direction of the investigation, requested and obtained from the GIP the precautionary measure of detention in prison for the man, given the seriousness of the facts and the risk of repetition of the criminal conduct.

The measure was carried out last October by specialists from the Emilia-Romagna Postal Police. Simultaneously with the execution of this judicial order, the third member of the group, an employee of the Municipality of Naples, was searched at liberty. He had been charged with possession of child pornography but was not involved in the production of sexual content depicting minors.

The fourth member of the group, an Italian citizen residing in the Brescia area , was also arrested in flagrante delicto for possession of a large quantity of material related to the sexual exploitation of minors and investigated for sexual assault against his own daughter, as part of a separate investigative activity, originating from a tip from the Canadian counterpart forwarded by the CNCPO and followed up by the Postal and Communications Police Department of Milan, at the direction of the Brescia prosecutor's office, the results of which were linked to today's operation.

In parallel, having collected further investigative elements, the Rome Postal Police Department was able to identify two other individuals, who were in turn the recipients of searches because they were in contact, through other channels, with the first suspect, with whom they had conversations of a child pornography nature, together with the receipt and sending of illicit content.

Of the two, the first, a resident of Nettuno , was reported at large because he had on his devices the files received from the Roman, who had also given him instructions on how to establish sexual contact with a minor.

The second position, however, relating to a fifty-five-year-old Sicilian , was confirmed in its seriousness during the search carried out in Sicily by the agents of the Postal Service of Rome: the man, in fact, abused his own daughter, forcing her to undergo sexual intercourse, and shared the recordings of the intercourse with his interlocutors.

For him, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Messina, from which the case was separated due to territorial jurisdiction, subsequently requested the GIP to issue a precautionary detention order in prison for the man, for sexual violence against a minor and production of child pornography.

The Sicilian's wife was also the recipient of the precautionary measure of removal from the marital home and prohibition from approaching the injured party. She is under investigation because, despite being aware of the abuse, she did nothing to prevent the events. Both measures were carried out by the Postal Police Department of Catania.

The fifth associate, a member of the closed group, is another Neapolitan, just over thirty years old: during the search, carried out jointly by the operators of the Naples and Bologna Departments on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the investigators found approximately 200 child pornography files, as well as direct evidence of the suspect's participation in the chat, where he shared his fantasies regarding sexual acts with minors, combining them with photos stolen from daily family life, including that of a newborn portrayed in the act of changing his diaper.

The subject was arrested for possession of a large quantity of child pornography and placed in prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities of Naples.
