Ikea cuts sick pay for unvaccinated people in UK: currently around 10
IKEA has announced it will reduce sick pay for its UK employees who need to self-isolate because they have contracted or been exposed to coronavirus.
Ikea employs around 10 people in the UK, with an average salary of around £400 to £450, depending on the position.
“ Fully vaccinated colleagues or those with extenuating circumstances will receive full pay while self-isolating ,” the statement reads. “ Unvaccinated colleagues will be paid in line with our company policy on self-isolation absence.”
IKEA, like many other companies, is having to deal with staff shortages due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson himself today stressed that the people most affected by Omicron are those who have not been vaccinated.
