The presence of stray animals on Mount Faito is once again the focus of institutional attention. The issue was addressed at the Government Palace during a meeting convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, with the aim of continuing efforts to protect the animals and ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and mountain dwellers.
The summit was attended by the mayor of Vico Equense, representatives of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, the Police Headquarters, the Naples Financial Police, the ASL Napoli 3 Sud, and EAV.
The phenomenon of stray animals, particularly stray dogs, had already been addressed in the past through joint institutional interventions. These measures have significantly reduced the problem.
During the meeting, however, the need to remain vigilant and to continue coordinating efforts among the organizations involved was shared, maintaining a high level of focus on animal welfare and the safety of those who live or visit Mount Faito.
Among the objectives identified is to promote the adoption of dogs currently housed at the Boscotrecase shelter, in compliance with the procedures established by law.
The Prefecture meeting therefore aims to consolidate the work already underway through stable collaboration between local administrations, law enforcement, health services, and entities operating in the area.
