There were 9.820 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Italy in the last 24 hours, compared to 17.744 yesterday and, more importantly, 13.668 infections last Monday, confirming a steadily declining weekly trend. Only 93.813 swabs were processed (160.995 yesterday), with the positivity rate dropping from 11% to 10,5%. There have been 80 deaths (34 yesterday).
Total victims since the beginning of the pandemic rise to 166.032. Hospitalizations are still decreasing: patients in intensive care are 1 less (yesterday -9), with 15 daily admissions, and are 291 in total, while in ordinary wards there are 12 less (yesterday -170), 6.388 in total.
This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health. The region with the highest number of new cases today is Lazio (1.341) ahead of Emilia Romagna (1.224), Lombardy (972), Campania (968) and Sicily (731). I
total cases since the beginning of the pandemic reach 17.257.573. The discharged/recovered in the last 24 hours are 27.490 (yesterday 24.258) for a total that rises to 16.258.494. The currently positive are 17.549 fewer (yesterday -6.273) for a total that drops to 833.047. Of these, 826.368 are in home isolation.
