In Torre del Greco even mice bathe in the sea

A few days ago, a video was posted on the well-known Chinese social network Tik Tok, probably by a resident of Torre del Greco, who wanted to " immortalize" the incredulous scene that appeared before his eyes: a mouse was floating in the sea a few steps away from the bathers.

Beyond the obvious considerations, the video confirms what is a reality for many of the beaches and stretches of sea in the Vesuvian area : some are abandoned , in disastrous conditions , others, fortunately , are kept in reasonable condition. Above all, thanks to the many associations that often do " good works" in the silence of the citizens.

The thing that should make us reflect is that the sea is source of life, income and work . Under these conditions it is one a slap in the face to centuries of maritime traditions.
Thanks to the sea entire generations have been fed , and even today our sea, unfortunately less and less, provides work for thousands of fishermen.

And there is no point in asking the state to intervene because it is a disaster that we created with our own hands . And we have to solve it.

Over the years, we have always been the ones who chose policies that didn't care about protecting the land. We have always been the ones who did nothing when we saw how the sea was being polluted and by whom , perhaps because deep down it was convenient for everyone to look the other way . So what are we surprised about ? We accepted having rats in the sea with us to earn a few extra euros at the end of the month (because the people didn't get rich from this; only those who used it for their own purposes made billions).

It's late now to put the "patches" in place, what is needed is to care about what is ours : the sea, the land, the streets, our homes and the future. We need a turning point from the people.
If one tomorrow the coastline of our city turns into one rubbish dump , if the sea of ​​our city becomes more and more polluted , what do we need we are amazed ? These are the consequences, these are the scenes that we see more and more often on social media.
