The province of Caserta 's longest-running event , now in its fiftieth year, will return in early September: "Settembre al Borgo," scheduled for September 1st to 4th in the medieval village of Casertavecchia. The announcement was made by Caserta city councilors Emiliano Casale (Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Events) and Enzo Battarra (Culture).
“September at the Borgo 2022 – says Casale – will be a special edition that arises from the path started in recent years by maestro Enzo Avitabile, artistic director of the event for the fifth consecutive year.
The event blows out fifty candles and, for the occasion, will gather in the village of Casertavecchia instruments, sounds and cultures from all over the world. There will be four important evenings, four previews - adds Casale - in which the musical tradition of Campania will be contaminated with the international experiences of the prestigious guests expected. We will return to the origins with the location of Piazza Vescovado and there will be the long-awaited appointment with the reading and journalism of "Un Borgo di Libri" in the courtyards and courtyards of the medieval village".
Councilor for Culture Enzo Battarra explains that “Maestro Avitabile wanted to privilege the world of musical and theatrical research rather than offering the public hit parade names. It is a program that focuses on previews and productions that are born in the place, with high-profile international guests. This is the spirit of the festival”.
