Over 100 volunteers went to the transfusion center at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples today to donate blood for Fulvio Filace.

The 25-year-old CNR graduate trainee was seriously injured in the explosion of a prototype car last Friday on the Naples ring road, which caused the death of Maria Vittoria Prati, a 66-year-old CNR researcher.

“It is important – the Cardarelli hospital informs – that the generosity of many continues also in the coming weeks”, for this reason the Cardarelli center invites “all those who wish to donate blood or plasma to contact the center by following the instructions on the page 'www.ospedalecardarelli.it/buonsangue' or by calling the number 0817472488”.

Angelo Zuccarelli, director of the Cardarelli Transfusion Center, says: “We thank so much generosity from so many people, but it is important to guarantee an adequate flow of blood for all our patients even in the central weeks of summer.

It is therefore important that anyone who wants to donate contacts our center first, so as to help us plan the management of the blood over the next few weeks."
