Ambush in Piazza Carlo III: the target was the actor Ciro Vecchione

He was the target of the ambush and the killers opened fire to kill Ciro Vecchione, 20 years old, a face known to the police and to those who follow films about Naples.

Vecchione is known for playing “o' russ” in the film 'The children's gang', big screen adaptation of Roberto Saviano's novel of the same name.

The ambush took place at night, around 2,30am in Piazza Carlo III, four young people riding two scooters: they surrounded the car in which they were travelling Ciro Vecchione and its girlfriend. The inside, almost certainly, was to kill.

At the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital in Naples the two twenty-year-olds, engaged, arrived. The girl has a bullet in the abdomen, and is in serious condition although not in danger of life; Vecchione instead has a bullet in the pelvis.

After the attack, the two young men were taken to Pellegrini Hospital. Eight shots were fired at around 2 am on Monday.

The investigations were entrusted to the officers of the San Carlo all'Arena police station who found both the shell casings (9x21 caliber) on the street and traces of blood on the asphalt.
