Tragedy at Riviera di Chiaia: Tunisian dies in apartment fire

Naples. Tragedy struck last night in Naples, specifically on the Riviera di Chiaia, where a Tunisian citizen died in a fire in his apartment.

In fact, this night the Carabinieri of the Naples Centro company intervened in via Riviera di Chiaia 202 for a fire in an apartment on the mezzanine floor.

The military arrived together with some ambulances and the firefighters called by citizens of the area who had seen flames coming from an apartment.

But when they were put out the flames, the carabinieri inspected the house, and in the bathroom, they found the body of a 53-year-old of Tunisian origins.

The victim attempted to escape through a small window in the bathroom

The man died of asphyxiation after trying in vain to leave the house through a small window in the bathroom.

The body and the house have been seized. Investigations are underway into the origins of the fire.
