Naples – The extraordinary operations ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking continue unabated. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid arrested a 36-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, on charges of unlawful possession for the purpose of trafficking, assault, and resisting a public official.
The operation began on Via Luigi Serio, in the Case Nuove neighborhood, where officers, conducting a patrol, observed a man giving something to another person in exchange for money. The substance, according to the reconstruction, had been taken shortly before from a cavity in a wall.
The police intervened immediately to stop the illegal activity, managing to subdue the suspect with some difficulty. The man resisted and engaged in a struggle with the officers before finally being arrested.
During the search, the 36-year-old was found in possession of €85 in cash, divided into banknotes and coins of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. Inside the identified cavity, officers also found 62 packages of cocaine and crack, weighing a total of approximately 12 grams.
The arrest
At the end of the operations, the man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
