One team in the round of 16, three in the playoffs, and one eliminated: this is the final tally for Italian teams in the first phase of the Champions League, following the final round of play.

Inter earns a spot in the top eight, while Atalanta, Milan and Juventus will have to face the playoffs. Bologna, on the other hand, fails to advance from the round.

Inter qualify with authority

Inter showed great form, defeating Monaco with a clear 3-0. After just four minutes, Lautaro Martinez converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Thuram.
