Acerra, 9-month-old baby mauled by a pitbull
A tragedy occurred in Acerra, where a 9-month-old baby girl died after being attacked by a pitbull.
The accident occurred during the night, and the medical staff at the Villa dei Fiori clinic in Acerra could do nothing but confirm the death of the little girl, who had serious injuries to her face and head.
The father told law enforcement that he fell asleep with his daughter around 22:30 p.m. last night and woke up to find her in a pool of blood, having been attacked by the family pit bull .
The mother was not at home
He took her to the nearby Villa dei Fiori clinic but the little girl was already lifeless. The agents of the Acerra Police Station are investigating the incident. At the time of the tragedy, the little girl's mother was at work.
The police are working to reconstruct the entire dynamics of the facts. The dog has now been taken by the veterinary service of the ASL. The prosecutor's office has opened a file.
