Don't Put Art Aside – A Review of Workshops for Children

The series of creative workshops for children, "Don't Put Art Aside," returns to the La Bazzarra Theatre School, directed by Gigi Di Luca. The project, which has been running for years, aims to introduce young children to the world of culture through thematic experiences related to theater, music, dance, and painting. Designed for children aged five to ten, these workshops offer a valuable learning experience in a group setting, under the guidance of experts.

The sensory room

This year’s theme, “The Sensory Room,” is designed to stimulate creativity and freedom of expression in children, encouraging the interaction between emotions, music and colors. The series of events will be held at the La Bazzarra Theater School and will begin on Saturday, March 22. The first workshop, titled “The Birth of a Tribe,” will invite participants to explore percussion instruments through creative techniques such as using hand and foot prints to create rhythmic symbols, building hand-made drums and experiencing a musical walk in the Savannah.

Artistic and musical experiences

In the second appointment, “Body Color and Sound,” children will be encouraged to paint emotions in motion, transforming the room into a magical world where colors and sounds blend together to stimulate creativity. Through the use of tempera, watercolors and other materials, children will explore art in a free and engaging way. The third meeting, “The Call of the Sea,” will offer the opportunity to explore the sounds of the sea through an activity that will involve shells and the ocean drum, a fascinating musical instrument, concluding with a rhythmic dance.

Journey among the stars

Finally, the “Verso le Stelle” event will see participants immersed in a journey through the constellations, with sound paths created by meditative instruments and natural sounds. The activity includes the creation of light effects and will end with a dance experience under a starry sky. The activities will take place starting at 16:30 pm and will last 90 minutes.
