A new food alarm goes off: the Ministry of Health has issued a precautionary recall involving six brands of eggplant parmigiana and two brands of pesto and cherry tomato pie, due to the presence of non-compliant mozzarella.
The recalls concern the following products packaged in 250- and 500-gram trays with expiration dates of September 13, 14, and 15, 2025:
Eggplant Parmigiana: Paolo Ballestin, Campesan, Mulina, Gambuti, Blumen, Bortolato.
Pesto and cherry tomato pie: Campesan, Blumen.
All items come from the Paolo Ballestin Srl Food Laboratory factory, located in Cavaso del Tomba (Treviso).
The measure was adopted as a precautionary measure due to the non-compliance of the mozzarella used in the preparations. The Ministry did not provide further details, but in such cases, irregularities generally arise related to the quality or microbiological safety of the ingredient.
Anyone who has purchased one of the products listed is invited to check the batch number and expiration date shown on the packaging.
If they correspond to those subject to the recall, the trays should not be consumed.
You can return them to the point of sale for a refund or replacement.
All batches not included in the recall can be consumed without risk.
This is yet another precautionary recall involving ready-made meals and fresh food products. In recent months, the Ministry has intensified its controls on foods containing cheese and dairy products, categories which have always been considered more sensitive.
The goal, ministerial sources emphasize, is to ensure maximum consumer protection and information transparency.
