The two gunmen from the Baretti di Chiaia are linked to the Sesso del Pallonetto clan.

Naples – It's no longer just nightlife, it's a chronicle of urban warfare unfolding in the alleys of Chiaia. The city's high-class living room is once again transformed into an open-air shooting range, confirming a downward spiral of brutal violence that spares no one.

At dawn on Sunday, the State Police arrested two young men known to local criminals: Luciano Lemaire (21) and Francesco Cascella (22). The charges are very serious: attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

The ambush for a "snub" of order

The two, originally from Pallonetto di Santa Lucia, didn't hesitate to use a gun to settle a matter of criminal honor. It all began among the tables of the "Crazy Night" bar, on Vicoletto Belledonne. The owner, guilty only of trying to break up a fight over trivial matters that had broken out inside his business, became the target of a punitive raid.

Lemaire and Cascella returned to the scene determined to kill: a gunshot fired at chest height at the shopkeeper, "guilty" of interrupting their showdown. Only chance prevented the evening from ending in tragedy. After the shot, they fled on a scooter toward Via Cavallerizza, convinced they had reasserted their control of the area.

The Pallonetto pedigree: a blood legacy

Investigators are concerned not only about the incident itself, but also about the criminal caliber of those involved. Luciano Lemaire, in particular, has a surname that is highly controversial in Santa Lucia's criminal underworld. He is the brother of Ciro Lemaire, currently in prison and a central figure in the dynamics of the local clans.

Ciro was ambushed in January last year and subsequently arrested along with other members of the Sesso gang. The Sesso gang was involved in a bloody feud with the Elia clan, sparked by the murder of Pasquale Sesso by Gennaro Belaeff.

Luciano, therefore, seems to be following in the footsteps of a family tradition of brutality and retaliation, bringing the methods of clan warfare directly into the places of youthful entertainment.

Chiaia Baretti: The Siege of Crime

The arrest of the two young men, located in an apartment in the heart of Pallonetto thanks to video surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts, exposes the fragility of the Baretti di San Pasquale neighborhood. Despite security measures, the area remains the epicenter of tensions, pitting the new generation of organized crime against each other.

Sunday's episode is just the latest in a bloody trail that also included moments of terror on December 27th. Now, Lemaire and Cascella are in prison pending a sentencing hearing, while the Chiaia neighborhood ponders how to stem a seemingly endless escalation of violence.
