Madness ensued overnight in Caivano: a massive brawl broke out in the town center, leaving three injured. One is in serious condition.

Caivano – A night of ordinary madness transformed the heart of Caivano into a battlefield. It was around 2:00 a.m. when a violent brawl erupted on Corso Umberto I, involving about twenty young people. The toll was heavy: three people were injured, one of them in life-threatening condition, and one was arrested for attempted murder.

The fight, which broke out for reasons still under investigation, quickly escalated into a brutal assault. Two 20-year-olds were struck multiple times: one was rushed to Frattamaggiore Hospital, while the other was admitted to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples.

The situation is even more critical for a third young man, a 22-year-old, who was the victim of a violent beating. He is currently in the hospital in Giugliano in Campania, where doctors have given him a guarded prognosis due to the severity of the beatings he suffered.

The timely intervention of the Carabinieri from the mobile radio unit and the Caivano station prevented even worse consequences. The officers were able to identify and arrest the man believed to be responsible for the stabbings. He is a 22-year-old from Viareggio, with no criminal record, who was in the area at the time of the incident. He was arrested on charges of attempted murder and is now awaiting trial before the judicial authorities.

The attacker has been arrested: he is a 22-year-old Tuscan.

Despite the first arrest, investigators' work is far from over. The Carabinieri are combing through surveillance camera footage in the area and gathering witness statements to identify all the participants in the brawl. The motive that sparked the mass violence on one of the city's main thoroughfares, turning a Saturday night into a bloody affair, remains unclear.
