Motorcycle crash in Positano: Motorcyclist from San Giuseppe Vesuviano dies

Positano A night of blood and tragedy unfolded on the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast. A 49-year-old man, originally from San Giuseppe Vesuviano, lost his life in the early hours of today in a tragic car accident just outside Positano.

According to an initial reconstruction of events, the victim was riding his motorcycle toward Sorrento when, for reasons still being investigated by law enforcement, he suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The ensuing impact was devastating: the two-wheeler crashed at high speed into several cars legally parked along the road.

The violence of the impact is evidenced by the dramatic sequence of events: after the impact, the motorcycle flipped several times in mid-air, ending up on the roof of a parked minivan. This fall, unfortunately, proved fatal for the forty-nine-year-old.

Rescue efforts began immediately. Ambulances from the Positano emergency services and doctors from the Castiglione di Ravello hospital quickly arrived at the scene. The medical staff made long and desperate attempts to revive the man, but his injuries were too serious: the doctors had no choice but to pronounce him dead.

The Carabinieri of the local station and the Amalfi Mobile Radio Unit were responsible for the planimetric surveys and traffic management, and they have launched an investigation to shed full light on the exact dynamics of the tragic crash.
