Pomigliano d'Arco renews its passion for theater with the seventh edition of 'I nostri miti festival'.

Pomigliano d'Arco is preparing to once again welcome contemporary theatre with the seventh edition of “ I Nostri Miti Festival ”, an event that from June 18th to July 23rd will transform the Giardini dei Miti into a lively crossroads of art and culture.

The event, organized by the cultural association I Nostri Miti and sponsored by the Campania Region, debuts with the national preview of "Femminile Singolare" by Maria Bolignano, a show that celebrates feminine strength with irony and intensity, performed by Nunzia Schiano.

Under the artistic direction of Luciano Melchionna, one of the most influential directors and actors on the Italian theater scene, the festival presents itself with the theme "Heroic Distractions." Melchionna reflects on the human need for distraction to fill the inner void that often generates conflict and noise in our daily lives. His vision is clear: theater is a space for authentic life, capable of healing and regenerating through a lightness that does not sacrifice depth.

The program features five evenings packed with shows and performances: from “L'ultima corsa di Fred,” a tribute to Fred Buscaglione starring Massimo De Matteo, to “Ego,” a look at modern relationships directed by Maria Avolio with Melchionna's supervision, to “Matrioska Freedom” by Cinzia Cordella and Vuccirìa Teatro's production of “Io, mai niente con nessuno aveva fatto.”

A new feature this edition is the introduction of Opening Acts, artistic moments that precede each show with music, dance, and performance, thus expanding the festival's language and creating a multidisciplinary experience for the audience.

Totò Caprioli, the festival's creator, emphasizes that "I Nostri Miti Festival" is much more than a simple theatrical showcase: it is a place for cultural encounters and exchanges, a project that has grown over the years to become a point of reference for the local community and theater enthusiasts.
