Torre del Greco: 32-year-old arrested with modified 9mm pistol

In Torre del Greco, Carabinieri officers from the mobile radio unit stopped a Fiat Uno with Milan license plates that was operating suspiciously on the road. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Trecase, already known to law enforcement, was stopped after dangerous maneuvers and sudden acceleration.

During the search, officers found a blank-firing pistol in the passenger compartment, illegally modified to fire 9mm and 7,65mm ammunition, with a full magazine. The man was arrested and placed under house arrest pending trial on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The operation underlines the importance of roadside surveillance to prevent potentially dangerous incidents.
