Good news for motorists, residents, and tourists traveling along the Amalfi Coast Highway 163. Following the completion of the first phase of emergency repairs on the rocky ridge near Tordigliano, in the municipality of Vico Equense, traffic has reopened with alternating one-way traffic.

The announcement was made by Anas, which confirmed that the work carried out by the competent private companies has allowed safe traffic to be restored along the affected stretch, at kilometer 9,700 of the famous Amalfi Coast artery.

The work involved securing the ridge above the roadway, thus allowing for the gradual reopening of the road after the restrictions imposed to ensure the safety of users.

Normality is now approaching. Tomorrow, July 30th, once the final work on the rockfall protection system and finishing touches have been completed, the temporary construction site will be removed. Consequently, the one-way system will also be eliminated, with normal traffic flow restored along the entire affected stretch.

The full reopening is a highly anticipated step during one of the busiest tourist periods of the year, when State Road 163 experiences heavy daily traffic heading to the Amalfi Coast.
