Casalnuovo, sexual abuse of a 12-year-old, social media threats to the arrested man's wife
Following the case of a man who confessed to sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in his shop in the province of Naples, a new front has emerged: the hate campaign that, according to the defense, targeted the suspect's wife and two minor daughters.
The woman's lawyer, Giovanna Cacciapuoti, has reported the incident, describing a real escalation of verbal abuse, particularly on social media.
According to the professional, the mother and daughters have been the target of insults, threats, unfounded accusations, and serious insinuations spread across major social media platforms for days.
A situation that, the lawyer claims, has now gone beyond the confines of public debate and has transformed into a "digital lynching" against people unconnected to the facts and not involved in the investigation.
The lawyer also recalls that the man's family, from the first hours after the incident emerged, had publicly distanced themselves from his behavior, expressing solidarity with the child victim of abuse and his family.
Despite this position, according to the defense the attacks continued unabated.
The statement released by the lawyer also addresses alleged exploitation of the affair by some political figures, accused of further fueling the climate of hostility.
"This isn't about justice, it's about profiteering," the lawyer said, emphasizing how the hate campaign would have had serious repercussions on the reputation, serenity, and safety of the woman and her two minor daughters.
The lawyer's request is to immediately stop what she calls a hate campaign.
According to the professional, targeting family members who are not involved in the incident does not help establish responsibility or bring justice to the victim of abuse, but risks generating further innocent victims.
"Behind the screens are real people," he emphasizes, "and in particular two underage girls who bear no responsibility for what happened."
