At Peppino di Capri's funeral, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed his intention to renew the musical tradition linked to the celebrated artist. "Peppino composed an anthem for Napoli in the 1980s, which I would like to perform again at Maradona at the start of the new football season," De Laurentiis stated, emphasizing the song's historic importance for Neapolitan fans.
The producer also recalled his personal bond with the artist, who took part in two of his successful films, “A Spasso Nel Tempo” and “Natale Col Boss”, playing different roles with great versatility.
"I imagine Peppino at the Lord's court, sitting at the piano with a glass of champagne," the president added emotionally, addressing the artist's son. This tribute testifies to the deep respect and affection that binds the city of Naples and its club to an iconic figure in Italian music.
