In 2025, Campania's municipalities expect to collect more than €8,5 million from speeding fines, resulting from checks carried out using fixed and mobile speed cameras, speed cameras, and other detection systems. This is revealed by an analysis by Facile.it based on public accounting data.

The ranking of municipalities with the highest revenues sees Puglianello, in the province of Benevento, in first place, with over €1,1 million. It is followed by Atripalda (Avellino) with €1.010.455 and Sessa Aurunca (Caserta) with €853.560. Not far off the podium are Torrecuso (Benevento), Gragnano (Naples), Marcianise (Caserta), Fragneto Monforte (Benevento), Paupisi (Benevento), Cellole (Caserta), and Ceppaloni (Benevento), all with revenues exceeding €300.

Speeding is a major cause of road accidents, especially during the summer months, when there is a significant increase in accidents. According to the latest available ISTAT data, last summer in Campania, 3.170 accidents resulting in personal injuries occurred, equal to 29% of the annual total.
