Summer at the City of Science: eclipses, robots, and interactive discoveries

Naples is preparing for a summer dedicated to science and discovery thanks to the City of Science, which will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm, offering a rich calendar of events for tourists, families, and enthusiasts.

Among the main attractions of the technology hub is CORPOREA, the first European museum dedicated to human anatomy, which allows visitors to explore the human body with the help of Aphel, a humanoid robot.

There's no shortage of exhibitions like "Insects & Co.," which focuses on the world of arthropods, and shows at the Planetarium that take visitors on a journey through galaxies. On the first weekend of August, the Science Show "MINI BAR DEL LATTE: 'Assaggi' da Detective" will engage participants in scientific experiments to discover the properties of milk.

The most anticipated event is scheduled for August 12th with "Appointment in the Milky Way," an evening dedicated to the Great Solar Eclipse. The initiative, promoted by INAF, PLANit, and UAI, includes an immersive screening under the Planetarium dome and a live link-up with other Italian planetariums. Special guests, including Dr. Angelo Zinzi of the Italian Space Agency and musical performer Helen Tsefazghi, will guide the audience on a journey through science and music, exploring the Moon and the most ambitious space missions.

The evening will conclude with an outdoor aperitif accompanied by lounge music, offering a unique blend of scientific rigor, art, and conviviality under the Neapolitan summer sky. The City of Science will be closed only on August 15th, 16th, and 17th, ensuring a long and engaging summer season of knowledge and entertainment.
