Caserta: 10 reports for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with licenses revoked.

Caserta - A comprehensive territorial patrol operation, aimed at combating illegal activities and specifically preventing driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, was launched on the night of August 2nd by the Carabinieri of the Caserta Company. The operation involved officers from the Operations and Radiomobile Unit and the associated stations, with the support of specialized personnel from the Forensic Lab Service.

Following the checks, ten people were reported at large for traffic violations. The drivers, aged between 18 and 44 and resident in the provinces of Caserta and Naples, are seriously suspected—subject to the presumption of innocence pending a final conviction—of driving under the influence of narcotics. Two of them will also be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having tested positive for alcohol.

Mobile laboratory and operation budgets

During the service i Carabinieri They identified a total of 101 people and checked 52 vehicles, also reporting 17 administrative violations of the Highway Code. The irregularities found led to the revocation of ten driving licenses, with the initiation of the procedures required by current legislation.

The use of the mobile laboratory was crucial, allowing specialized toxicology tests to be performed directly on-site, making checks on stopped drivers quicker and more effective.

Checks will also be carried out in the coming weeks

The initiative is part of a broader prevention program implemented by the Carabinieri to improve road safety and combat one of the most common causes of accidents, especially during the evening and nighttime hours. The initiative will continue in the coming weeks with targeted services on the province's main roads, to prevent dangerous behavior and raise awareness among road users about complying with the rules.
