Vicenza – Photovoltaics continues to drive the growth of renewable energy in Italy, while the storage market is taking on an increasingly strategic role in ensuring the security, flexibility, and competitiveness of the national energy system.

In a country that recorded an electricity demand of nearly 312 TWh in 2024 and continues to import a significant share, the challenge is no longer just energy production, but the ability to manage it, enhance it, and integrate it efficiently into industrial processes.

It is within this context that the Ssec-Storage & Solar Expo Conference fits in, organized by IEG-Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with Meneghini&Associati and with the support of Italia Solare, scheduled for September 22 and 23, 2026, at the Vicenza Exhibition Center. Created in synergy with Key – The Energy Transition Expo, the Ssec-Storage & Solar Expo Conference, a vertical event dedicated to photovoltaics and energy storage systems, will bring together companies, associations, institutions, and industry professionals to seek answers to an increasingly central question for the market: how to transform the energy transition into a development lever? Ssec proposes a format built around three closely integrated elements: expo, conference, and networking.

The expo area will bring together select companies, including Enerpoint, BayWa re Power Solutions, Tonello Energie, Energy Team, and many others, offering a highly qualified environment where manufacturers, distributors, EPC contractors, designers, investors, energy managers, and large energy users can develop new business opportunities and discuss key market developments.

The conference will provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion and discussion on the issues reshaping the sector. Several conferences, developed in collaboration with some of the most authoritative stakeholders and players in the supply chain, will address the issues currently reshaping the sector over the course of the two days: regulatory developments, industrial competitiveness, new business models, storage systems, agrivoltaics, digitalization, and grid flexibility. These will not be technical discussions, but concrete tools for understanding how to transform the energy transition into value for businesses and local communities.

Completing the format will be networking opportunities, designed to foster dialogue between companies, associations, institutions, professionals, and stakeholders, creating a highly qualified ecosystem of relationships.

THE TOPICS AT THE CENTER OF THE DISCUSSION

The scientific program stems from questions currently confronting the market: how can we truly reduce energy costs? What role will storage play in the stability of the electricity system? Can flexibility become a new market? Can photovoltaics become a competitive lever for industry? Can agriculture and energy generate new value in the same region? The event, on September 22nd, will open with SolarBuilding, an event organized by Italia Solare, dedicated to the role of photovoltaics and self-consumption in the energy retrofitting of buildings, with a particular focus on investment support tools, regulatory developments, and the opportunities currently available to citizens, businesses, and industry players.

Also on September 22nd, Legambiente will present an in-depth discussion on agrivoltaics, focusing on "how to generate energy and income from the same land." The two-part discussion will first analyze the current status of agrivoltaics in Italy, using recent data and looking at future prospects. The second part will focus on the key regulatory, financial, and planning aspects, fostering dialogue between agricultural businesses, developers, and technology operators, and demonstrating how agrivoltaics can represent not only a technical innovation but also a concrete opportunity for economic development for the primary sector.

September 23rd will open with a conference hosted by Anie, dedicated to "new market scenarios and innovations in the regulatory framework for storage." The meeting will focus on highly topical issues such as MACSE, the Capacity Market, the revision of the Grid Code, Terna-Snam scenarios, and market development prospects, offering operators a concrete understanding of the new regulatory framework and the resulting opportunities. This will be followed by a conference hosted by Elemens, dedicated to "concrete actions to cut costs and maintain competitiveness."

Starting with an analysis of the electricity bill structure, the discussion will delve into tools such as PPAs, self-consumption, energy communities, and storage systems, demonstrating how energy strategies can become a key factor in business competitiveness. In the afternoon, Agici will present the Renewables 2026 Study, a study dedicated to the role of flexibility in the development of renewable energy sources.

Through the analysis of storage systems, demand response, digitalization, new remuneration models, and case studies, the conference will offer insight into the dynamics reshaping the economic value of energy and the new business models associated with the energy transition. In parallel, Prospecta Formazione will explore the relationship between construction, industry, and energy, offering professionals a dedicated discussion on the paths to greater energy independence, leading to the issuance of the required Professional Training Credits.

The Ssec-Storage & Solar Expo Conference is therefore intended as a meeting and discussion space where exhibition, content, and networking converge to support the sector's evolution. This format is designed to connect the entire supply chain, tasked with transforming the energy transition into a concrete opportunity for industrial development.
