Serious swimming pool accident: 8-year-old boy crushed by locker

A serious accident occurred this afternoon at a sports center in Campobasso, where a boy of about eight years old was crushed by a metal locker in the swimming pool's changing room.

The child suffered a serious head injury and was immediately transported to the emergency room of Cardarelli Hospital in Campobasso with a red code. Given the severity of the injuries, doctors are arranging for him to be transferred by ambulance to Santobono Pediatric Hospital in Naples for the necessary specialized care.

The circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated by the Carabinieri, who are trying to determine how the locker fell and struck the child. Authorities continue to work to obtain all the details and ensure the safety of sports facilities.
