The family of Domenico Caliendo, the child who died after an unsuccessful heart transplant, is once again calling for a swift conclusion to the compensation case. In a statement, attorney Francesco Petruzzi calls the further delays in finalizing the out-of-court settlement with Monaldi Hospital "unacceptable."

According to the lawyer, the hospital has already been granted several months to examine and process the case. This process, as formally communicated to the family, is now complete. Therefore, Petruzzi adds, there is no reason for further delays.

"Vacations cannot stop justice and compensation"

The lawyer is concerned about the risk of the matter being postponed until after the summer break. "We understand that summer is upon us and that even our colleagues at Monaldi and the Claims Assessment Committee are now looking ahead to September," Petruzzi states, "but we cannot accept continued procrastination."

The lawyer also emphasized that the Caliendo family has been waiting for answers for many months: "They've been waiting for the truth since December 23rd, and justice since February 20th. It would be desirable for these values to be prioritized, while respecting the legitimate summer holidays of those called upon to make decisions."

The appeal to the President of the Region

To try to unblock the situation, Petruzzi announced that he had requested an urgent meeting with the president of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico.
"The president's past willingness to address this matter leads us to trust in a swift discussion," the lawyer concludes, anticipating that further developments could emerge in the coming days.
