Portico di Caserta: 34-year-old man threatens bartender with knife, arrested after violently resisting police
Portico di Caserta – Last night, a timely intervention by Carabinieri officers from the Macerata Campania station, supported by the Operations and Radiomobile Unit of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company, led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man from San Prisco. He is charged with resisting a public official and aggravated criminal damage, crimes for which he is currently under house arrest pending trial.
The incident began inside a bar in Portico di Caserta, where the 34-year-old, presumably under the influence of alcohol and drugs, threatened the owner with a 30-centimeter serrated knife hidden behind his back. The Carabinieri intervened quickly, disarming the man before he could act.
During containment operations, the 34-year-old resisted violently and, once taken to the barracks, continued to display aggressive behavior, even attempting to escape by climbing over a fence and damaging it. The officers immediately apprehended him.
The knife was seized for criminal purposes, and no one was injured during the operation. The arrested man was then placed under house arrest by order of the judicial authorities, pending a summary trial.
