A Bugnara woman has been charged with a €5 scam for a nonexistent vacation home.
During an investigation coordinated by the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prosecutor's office, a 54-year-old woman living in Bugnara (L'Aquila) received a notice of investigation for her alleged involvement in a scam.
The case centers on five payments, totaling approximately €5, into his Bancoposta account. According to investigations by the Naples police, the money originated from deposits paid by victims of a scam involving the reservation of a non-existent vacation rental in Pozzuoli, in the province of Naples.
The investigation suggests that the woman was complicit in the scam, while the alleged main scammer is a 50-year-old man from Naples. The 54-year-old claims she was unaware of the source of the funds, believing them to be repayments from a previous loan. The woman is now ready to defend herself before the judicial authorities, reiterating her innocence.
